We are delighted to announce that AVCR have been awarded £50,000 by the Just Transition Participatory Budget Fund administered by Aberdeenshire Voluntary Action. This grant will be used to purchase reclaimed high density plastic sleepers. This sleeper system has been approved by national and heritage rail operators and is now being used to replace wooden sleepers across Europe. The benefits of the plastic sleepers are that they do not rot in wet conditions and have a min life expectancy of 50 years. AVCR are very grateful for this contribution.
